I went to San Diego to visit Matt. He picked me up from the airport in his Mustang convertible.

While the weather was very pleasant before Christmas, a storm was predicted for the 25th so we decided to go to the desert! It’s on the other side of the mountain and a 3 hour drive. At the top of the mountain is Julian- they are famous for their apple pie. Unfortunately, they were sold out by the time we got there.

We arrived at La Casa del Zorro after sunset but from what we could see of the grounds, this is a beautiful place! The restaurant was open as well with very good food.

Christmas day, we left the hotel and explored Borrego Springs. The park visitor center was unexpectedly open and gave us shelter from some desert rain!

The rain turned to snow on the return trip over the mountain. The Mustang was over-powered for the slippery roads but Matt got us back safely.

Matt got us tickets to Universal Studios so we drove up to LA. We had a very entertaining time but got caught in heavy traffic getting home. My favorite of the day was the Water World show.

Later in the week, we met up with Jeri, David and Dailyn at Imperial Beach for tacos and a short walk on the pier.

Before I left, Matt was excited to get tickets for the Rose Bowl- Ohio State and Washington.
